<br />TERMS <br /> <br />1. Term of Agreement. Unless earlier terminated by the parties, the term of this <br />Agreement shall commence upon execution by both parties and shall remain in <br />effect for 5 years. After the initial 5-year term, the Agreement shall automatically <br />renew every five (5) years. <br /> <br />2. Description of Facilities. The District owns parking lots, school buildings at the <br />Roosevelt School and McKinley Institute of Technology, in the County of San <br />Mateo, California. The Facilities will be constructed in accordance with Plans and <br />Specifications to be approved by the Division of the State Architect. <br /> <br />3. Purpose of Facilities. The purpose of the Facilities will be to provide the students of <br />the District, and the community members of the City of Redwood City, regular <br />access to the Roosevelt and McKinley Institute of Technology multipurpose <br />Facilities. The Facilities, in addition to supporting the District's educational <br />purposes, are anticipated to support many other youth and community groups. The <br />Facilities are intended to support, but not limited to, such activities as recreation as <br />well as providing space for general meetings. <br /> <br />4. Construction of Facilities. The District shall be fully responsible for the construction <br />of the Facilities and for entering into any and all agreements required for, and <br />relating to the construction of the Facilities. The District shall be responsible for <br />complying with all State and local laws relating to the construction of school <br />facilities. <br /> <br />5. Project Approvals. The District shall be responsible for obtaining all necessary <br />approvals and permits for construction of the Facilities including, but not limited to, <br />obtaining approval of the plans and specifications by the Division of the State <br />Architect, obtaining approval of the projects by the State Department of Education, <br />and applying for funding from the State Allocation Board. <br /> <br />6. Funding Responsibilities for Construction. Funding for the construction of Facilities <br />shall be shared between the State of California and the Redwood City School <br />District. <br /> <br />The State Allocation Board may provide funding for construction in the amount <br />approved by the State Allocation Board under the authority granted by Education <br />Code Section 17052. <br /> <br />7. Joint Use of the Facilities. The District and the City shall share the use of the <br />Facilities. The Parties agree to cooperate in coordinating programs and activities <br />conducted at the Facilities so as to avoid conflicting uses, to ensure the availability <br /> <br />T <br />
