AMPEX SIDEWALK APPRAISAL <br /> <br />The sidewalks around the Ampex site were inspected and a 25 page site <br />plan drawn. The site plan is divided into three parts - Broadway <br />Eastside, Broadway Westside and Bay Road Eastside. <br /> <br />Step separations and other possible tripping defects were identified. <br />The damages and potential hazards have been divided into two needs: <br />(1) sidewalks requiring replacement due to excessive lifting or <br />settling and (2) sidewalks slightly lifted that can be ground down to <br />a level surface. Cost estimates for sidewalk replacement and grinding <br />have been formulated. <br /> <br />The perimeter public sidewalks are generally in a serviceable, usable <br />condition. Attention to the potentially hazardous areas will leave <br />the site in functional condition. Complete replacement of the <br />perimeter walkway is not warranted. <br /> <br />Additional recommendations include enlarging the tree planting spaces <br />to a minimum 4'6" X 4'6", removing the Privet trees and replacing <br />them with either Tristania laurina, an evergreen broadleaf tree or <br />Chinese Pistachio, a deciduous tree with attractive fall colors. A <br />removable walkway should be placed over the soil around the trees. A <br />cost estimate for the tree replacement has been formulated. <br /> <br /> <br />
