Section 1.5, "Area'., "Area" means the combined aggregate jurisdictional service areas of the Agencies as they now exist and as they may hereafter be modified by annexation of territory to or exclusion of territory ftom the boundaries of any of the Agencies. Section 1.6. '.Authority", "Authority" means the Southern San Mateo Police Authority created pursuant to this Agreement. Section 1.7, "Belmont". "Belmont'. means the City of Belmont. Section 1.8. "Commission". "Commission" means the Commission referred to in Section 2.4. Section 1.9. "Controller". "Controller" means the Director of Finance of Belmont, designated as Controller of the Authority in Section 3 .2. Section 1.10. "County", "County" means the County of San Mateo, State of California. Section 1.11. "Fiscal year". "Fiscal year'. means the period ftom July 1st to and including the following June 30th. Section 1.12. "Foster City". "Foster City" means the City of Foster City. Section 1.13. "Hillsborough". "Hillsborough'. means the Town of Hills borough. Section 1.14. "Joint Equipment". "Joint Equipment'. means all communications hardware and software, leased lines, and custom interface and database software to be managed and operated by the Authority pursuant to Section 5.2 hereof and, if and when acquired or constructed, any improvements and additions thereto and any additional equipment acquired or constructed by the Authority or any of the Agencies. Section 1.15. "Maintenance and Operation Costs". "Maintenance and operation costs" means those sums of money required to be expended by the Authority ftom a fund to be established and maintained by the Authority to finance the cost of maintaining and operating the Joint Equipment, including all administrative and management costs and all costs of maintaining equipment, resources and property and all personnel costs incurred after December 1, 1998, but excluding all capital costs. Section 1.16. "Operating Fund'., "Operating Fund'. means the joint maintenance and operating fund, which collects funds from each Agency and which pays all administrative, maintenance, and operating costs of the Joint Equipment. Section 1.17. "Redwood City". "Redwood City" means the City of Redwood City. Section 1.18. "San Carlos'., "San Carlos" means the City of San Carlos. ...... .".".......0"_._..-. '-"T""""'"
