3. Contractor's Contribution. (a) Upon execution hereof, Contractor shall carry out and complete the Reconstruction. The Reconstruction shall be completed within calendar days, commencing the date next following the date hereof; provided, that reasonable extensions of time for completion of the Reconstruction shall be granted by City in accordance with the provisions governing extensions as set forth in the Contract Documents. (b) Before commencing the work of Reconstruction. Contractor shall submit written evidence that Contractor and any subcontractors employed on the work of Reconstruction have obtained for the duration thereof Workers' Compensation insurance coverage for all persons whom they employ or may employ in carrying out the work of Reconstruction. Said insurance shall conform to requirements of the most current applicable California Workers' Compensation Insurance laws. In accordance with the provisions of Section 1861 of the California labor Code, Contractor, by execution hereof, certifies to City as true and correct, the following statement: "I am aware of the provisions of Section 3700 of the labor Code which requires every employer to be insured against liability for Workers' Compensation or to undertake self-insurance in accordance with the provisions of that Code, and I will comply with such provisions before commencing the performance of the work of this contract."
