06/03/02 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14446 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY APPROVING A CONTRIBUTION AGREEMENT <br />WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR HIGHWAY 101 <br />BICYCLE PATH - RECYCLED WATER LINE COST SHARE <br />WHEREAS, as part of an overall lane widening project, the State of California <br />Department of Transportation (CalTrans) plans to construct a bicycle path adjacent to <br />Highway 101 between the Whipple Avenue on -ramp and Sky Way frontage road; and <br />WHEREAS, CalTrans has agreed to include, as part of the project, the <br />installation of a City twenty -four inch recycled water transmission line under the bike <br />path; and <br />WHEREAS, on January 28, 2002, the City Council authorized staff to work with <br />consultants, CalTrans and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority to conduct a <br />pre- design study of the proposed transmission line and to develop a checklist of all of <br />technical requirements, permits, constraints and potential costs associated with the <br />work; and <br />WHEREAS, on March 11, 2002, the City Council approved an agreement <br />authorizing Kennedy /Jenks Consultants to design the recycled water pipeline alignment <br />and to prepare construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates and to provide <br />support services during bidding; and <br />WHEREAS, in order to get funding approval from the California Transportation <br />Commission, CalTrans requires an approved contribution agreement with the City of <br />Redwood City. <br />F:Atty /Reso /Reso.1307 <br />052402 <br />
