<br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />AGREEMENT <br /> <br />Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County <br />FIRSTSTOP <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this ~ day of ~(' <br />2003, by and between the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a charter city and municipal <br /> <br />corporation of the State of California ("City") and Legal Aid Society of San Mateo <br /> <br /> <br />County, a California nonprofit organization ("Contractor") (collectively the "Parties"). <br /> <br />WITNESSETH: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Contractor provides technical assistance and legal advice to low <br />income people in Redwood City to help them establish their own businesses. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Contractor has requested financial assistance in order to conduct <br />the program described in the attached Exhibit B (Contract Objectives), which is <br /> <br />incorporated herein by this reference (the "Program"), for residents of City during the <br />fiscal year commencing July 1, 2003, and ending June 30, 2004; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City Council has reviewed Contractor's request; finds that providing <br />the financial assistance will benefit Redwood City and its citizens; and, desires to <br /> <br />allocate to Contractor the sum of Twenty Five Thousand and no/100 Dollars ($25,000). <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the Parties hereby agree as follows: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. <br /> <br />City will allocate to Contractor the sum of <br /> <br />Twenty Five Thousand and no/100 Dollars ($25,000) for exclusive use by Contractor <br />during the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2003, and ending June 30, 2004, solely for <br /> <br />the purposes described in Paragraph 2. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />USE OF FUNDS. <br /> <br />Contractor will use the funds provided pursuant to <br /> <br />Paragraph 1 solely for the Program purposes described in Exhibits A (Budget) &. B. <br /> <br />9/11/03 <br />
