<br />Examples are rotted flooring, broken waste flange, a rough-in dimension that is <br />other than 12-inch or 10-inch, and installation of a new angle stop. Abnormal <br />conditions shall not include: replacement or installation of waste flange bolts <br />together with fiber or plastic washer, nuts and caps, or new seal between fixture <br />and waste flange; installation of new toilet seats; clean-up of old caulk, <br />application of new caulk, or post installation clean-up and removal of old fixtures <br />from site; nor shall it include pressure adjusting; nor shall it include adapters to <br />mount new showerheads or application of Teflon tape when mounting <br />showerheads. <br /> <br />4-12.2 Abnormal site conditions suspected but not obvious: contractor shall identify any <br />potential abnormal site conditions, point them out to owner, owner's <br />representative or lessee and come to agreement on how these will be handled. <br />City will not be responsible for or pay for abnormal work. <br /> <br />4-12.3Abnormal site conditions obvious or highly likely: If any abnormal conditions are <br />determinable in advance of work, Contractor shall first prepare an estimate for <br />dealing with same and the owner of the site or owner's representative shall sign <br />and approve the estimate before work commences or the site shall be passed <br />and deemed ineligible for participation in the City's direct-install project. City will <br />not be responsible for or pay for abnormal work. <br /> <br />4-12.4 Materials used for abnormal work: City will not be responsible for or pay for <br />materials used for abnormal work. Exhibit B, however, contains some items <br />used only in abnormal work. These are marked with an asterisk. The Contractor <br />shall quote the cost, both materials and labor (services) charge for these items <br />since these can be estimated in advance. Contractor agrees to quote these <br />same prices to customer in preparing any estimate for abnormal work for the <br />customer. <br /> <br />4-12.5 If a toilet is separated by a long horizontal distance in excess of 40 feet, from the <br />public sewer and its waste flow is unassisted by other significant tributary waste <br />flow (such as a lavatory, shower, or other wastewater source), said toilet should <br />not be replaced and shall be deemed ineligible for the City's Direct-Install Project. <br />An example of such a condition: a single toilet and lavatory located at the far end <br />of a long warehouse. <br /> <br />4-13 Special Information and Advice to Customers <br /> <br />4-13.1 Before leaving an installation site, Contractor shall leave following items with <br /> <br />customer: <br /> <br />(a) A printed call back card which identifies Contractor and contains <br />Contractor's address and a local area or toll free phone number.
