<br />a RIG I N A L <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />DES:djk A~/30/93 <br /> <br />(095/34) <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />12011 <br /> <br />---------- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING PURCHASE OF ONE DUMP TRUCK AND <br />AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF PURCHASE DOCUMENTS IN <br />CONNECTION THEREWITH <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2.76 of the Redwood City Code, <br /> <br />this Council has suspended the requirements of Article VII of <br /> <br />Chapter 2 of the Code of the City of Redwood City relating to <br /> <br />competitive bidding for the hereinafter described purchase; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Department <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />General <br /> <br />Services <br /> <br />immediately <br /> <br />requires <br /> <br />a <br /> <br />specialized <br /> <br />dump <br /> <br />truck <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />carry <br /> <br />out daily <br /> <br />street <br /> <br />repairs and maintenance in the City of Redwood City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />based <br /> <br />on <br /> <br />solicitation <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />informal <br /> <br />bids, <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Department of General Services has determined that Fremont Ford <br /> <br />has <br /> <br />offered <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />provide <br /> <br />immediate <br /> <br />delivery <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />a <br /> <br />specialized <br /> <br />("super <br /> <br />duty" ) <br /> <br />dump <br /> <br />truck <br /> <br />which <br /> <br />meets <br /> <br />all <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />City's <br /> <br />specifications at a price heretofore established pursuant to bids <br /> <br />for a prior purchase of a similar vehicle; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />this Council desires to approve the purchase of <br /> <br />said super duty dump truck in an amount not to exceed Nineteen <br /> <br />Thousand Fifty-five and 25/100 Dollars ($19,055.25); <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />This <br /> <br />Council <br /> <br />hereby <br /> <br />approves <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />purchase <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />one <br /> <br />specialized <br /> <br />(" super duty") <br /> <br />dump truck from Fremont Ford in an <br /> <br />amount not <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />exceed Nineteen Thousand Fifty-five <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />25/100 <br /> <br />Dollars ($19,055.25). <br /> <br />2 . <br /> <br />The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to <br /> <br />execute all documents required in connection with the purchase <br /> <br />authorized herein (in form approved by the City Attorney) for and <br />on behalf of the City of Redwood City. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br />
