Waste, Recyclable Materials and Plant Materials Collection Services between <br />the City of Redwood City and BFI Waste Systems of North America, extending <br />the Agreement by four years until December 31, 2010. <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />ADOPTING THE AMENDED AND RESTATED FRANCHISE AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br />THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND BF1 WASTE SYSTEMS OF NORTH AMERICA, <br />INC. ( "BFI ") FOR SOLID WASTE, RECYCLABLE MATERIALS, COMMERCIAL <br />ORGANIC MATERIALS, AND PLANT MATERIALS COLLECTION SERVICES (803) <br />MINUTE ORDER 05 -101 <br />7. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />A. Water Utility Service Rates and Charges <br />Public Works Services Director Ingram gave the background on the water rate <br />increase process that involved the Utilities Committee working with staff on <br />recommendations and eliciting community input prior to development of a <br />recommendation. He further explained the Utilities Committee recommendation <br />and the impacts on customers. <br />Council Members asked various questions and thanked the Utilities Committee <br />and staff for the report. <br />Mayor Ira opened the public hearing. <br />Public Comment: <br />Andy Talbot asked what the average single family dwelling usage is and what the <br />dollar amount per unit is. <br />PWS Director Ingram stated that the average bill would be $61.72 per billing <br />period which is a two -month statement. <br />WS Aguirre/Pierce to close the public hearing. The motion passed by a <br />unanimous voice vote. <br />Recommendation: <br />M/S Howard /Foust to approve the following: <br />1.
