<br />DES:djk/cb 1l/07/91 <br /> <br />(036/30) <br /> <br />--------- <br /> <br />0 RIG I N A L <br /> <br />11/18/91 <br /> <br />---------- <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />11645 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />AGREEMENT WITH HISPANOS UNIDOS FOR THEATRE ARTS PROGRAM <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Hispanos Unidos, <br /> <br />a non-profit corporation of the <br /> <br />State <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />California <br /> <br />was <br /> <br />established <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />exists <br /> <br />for <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />principal purpose of developing community and ethnic pride <br /> <br />in <br /> <br />furtherance of the public image and social order in the City of <br /> <br />Redwood City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Hispanos Unidos proposes to conduct a Theatre Arts <br /> <br />Program <br /> <br />for <br /> <br />Hispanic <br /> <br />youth which <br /> <br />provides <br /> <br />an <br /> <br />opportunity <br /> <br />for <br /> <br />their personal development and self-esteem; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />this <br /> <br />Council <br /> <br />desires <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />approve <br /> <br />financial <br /> <br />assistance <br /> <br />for <br /> <br />said <br /> <br />Program <br /> <br />in <br /> <br />accordance with <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Agreement <br /> <br />hereinafter referenced; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />That <br /> <br />certain <br /> <br />agreement <br /> <br />entitled <br /> <br />"Agreement" <br /> <br />(form <br /> <br />dated <br /> <br />11/07/91), by and between the City of Redwood City and Hispanos <br /> <br />Unidos, <br /> <br />providing <br /> <br />financial assistance <br /> <br />for the above-described <br /> <br />Theatre Arts Program, a copy of which agreement is on file in the <br /> <br />office of the City Clerk, to which copy reference is hereby made <br /> <br />for the <br /> <br />full particulars thereof, <br /> <br />is hereby approved, <br /> <br />and the <br /> <br />City Manager and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to <br /> <br />execute and to attest thereto, respectively, <br /> <br />said agreement for <br /> <br />and on behalf of the City of Redwood City. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br />
