<br />DES:djk 10/21/91 <br /> <br />(096/25) <br /> <br />0 RIG I N A L <br /> <br />11/4/91 <br /> <br />---------- <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />NO. 11630 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />AGREEMENT FOR BASKETBALL OFFICIATING SERVICES (UMPIRE <br />SERVICES - RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />Redwood <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />conducts <br /> <br />basketball <br /> <br />league recreational programs for the benefit of the citizens of <br /> <br />the City of Redwood City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the operation of such basketball leagues requires <br /> <br />that umpires be selected, trained and scheduled to officiate at <br /> <br />basketball games; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, peninsula Officials Association has represented to <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />that <br /> <br />it has <br /> <br />the personnel qualified to perform the <br /> <br />aforementioned duties and responsibilities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />there <br /> <br />has <br /> <br />been <br /> <br />presented <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />this <br /> <br />Council <br /> <br />an <br /> <br />agreement <br /> <br />by <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />between <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />Redwood <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Peninsula <br /> <br />Officials <br /> <br />Association <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />furnish <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />with <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />aforesaid skills and services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the intention and desire of this Council to <br /> <br />approve said agreement and authorize its execution; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />That certain agreement entitled <br /> <br />"Agreement for Basketball <br /> <br />Officiating <br /> <br />Services" <br /> <br />(form <br /> <br />dated <br /> <br />10/21/91) , <br /> <br />by <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />between <br /> <br />- _.._..h__--- .--.-.,......- <br />
