Background On March 8, 1999, the City Council awarded the construction contract for Stafford Park Play Area Renovation Project to AV&C Construction, Inc. of San Bruno, California; for an amount of$450,000. The project included the following: • school-age play structure • benches • toddler play structure • picnic tables • toddler play village • arbors • swings • synthetic safety surfacing • rockers • landscaping • water basins • irrigation system • fossil archeology wall • underground utilities The total cost of the project was $452,947. One Change Order was issued in the amount of $2,947, which represents 0.6% of the original bid price. All work was completed in conformance with the plans and specifications, and acceptable to the Parks and Recreation Department.
