<br />6'. ~ð- / <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 38.5 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO WATER SERVICE CHARGES AND <br />FEES ' <br /> <br />THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />, . <br />SECTION 1. Section 38.5 of the Redwood City Municipal Code is hereby <br /> <br />-'1<:- <br /> <br />amended in its entirety to read as follows: <br /> <br />,. <br /> <br />"Sec. 38.5. WATER SERVICE CHARGE: <br /> <br />In addition to all other charges and fees applicable to users of water from the <br />water system owned or operated by the City of Redwood City, as established by the <br />Water Rules and Regulations of the Depéutment of Public Works Services, as amended, <br />and this chapter, residential and non-residential monthly water service charges shall be <br />paid for each water service within the water service areas and at the rate and upon the <br />effective dates as follows: <br /> <br />(a) Residential Water Service Charge. A monthly water service charge for <br />each dwelling unit or dwelling unit equivalent ("DUE") for each such unit used, or <br />intended for use, as a single-family residential dwelling, irrespectivEf' of whether <br />such service is furnished through a- single meter for multiple dwelling ;únits or <br />through individual meters for each dwelfing unit, is hereby established as follows: <br /> <br />Water Service Area <br /> <br />Service CharQe Per DUE. Per Month <br />Effective Date: 09/06/04 <br /> <br />1,2,3,4,5,6 <br /> <br />$12.00 <br /> <br />*DUEs shall be determined as follows: <br /> <br />(i) <br /> <br />A single-family residence consisting of one (1) independent dwelling unit <br />on a parcel of property shall be deemed 1 DUE; and <br /> <br />(ii) <br /> <br />Multi-family residences, consisting of more than one (1) dwelling unit on a <br />parcel of property shall be deemed to consist of the number of DUEs <br />derived from applying the following conversion table: <br /> <br />Atty/Ord/Ord.237 <br />053105 <br /> <br />1 <br />
