<br />REP <br /> <br /> <br />January 24, 2000 <br /> <br />Subject ' <br />Advertisement for Bids - Peninsula No.1 Water Tank Rehabilitation Project <br />Engineering File No. 1204-01 <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Adopt a resolution approving the Contract Documents entitled, "ContraQt Documents for <br />the Peninsula No.1 Water Tank Rehabilitation Project," and authorize the <br />advertisement for bids. <br /> <br />Background <br />Peninsula No.1 Water Tank is one of the two 3.2 million gallon water tanks located in <br />Redwood Shores. The goal of this renovation project is to provide the best water <br />quality available to our customers. The objectives are to remove and recoat the <br />existing interior and exterior steel tank coating to prevent tank corrosion, and to install <br />piping manifolds to enhance the water circulation in the tank. During the construction, <br />Peninsula Tank No.2 will serve as an emergency water storage tank, and the <br />connection to Hetch Hetchy will serve as part of the normal water distribution system. <br /> <br />The design has been completed by the staff of Engineering & Construction, and is now <br />ready for advertisement.
