Downtown Housing sites: <br /> <br />Community Development Services Manager Passanisi provided background that Council <br />had directed staff to investigate the potential for housing in the downtown area. <br /> <br />Council comments included desire for allowable housing in the downtown area and <br />encouragement of same. Some Council Members agreed with the project at 500 Arguello <br />Street being appropriate. <br /> <br />Council consensus was to allow the present development to move forward, a zoning text <br />amendment to return to Council as soon as possible that deals with the remaining 40% <br />looking closely at the property immediately adjacent to the jail and long term to commence <br />a thorough study of the entire downtown area. <br /> <br />6.
