<br />':) t- -1.. <br /> <br />REPORT <br /> <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br /> <br />February 7,2000 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Job specifications for Senior Civil Engineer classification <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />It is recommended that the job description for the classification of Senior Civil Engineer be <br />amended to include the duties and responsibilities of Traffic Engineer, effective January <br />10, 2000. <br /> <br />Background <br />As part of the department's ongoing reorganization, and in an effort to broadband similar <br />classifications, the Community Development Services Department has decided to include <br />the traffic engineer function in the Senior Civil Engineer classification. <br /> <br />Alternative <br />The alternative would be to leave the Senior Civil Engineer intact. However, such a <br />structure would be inconsistent with the direction in which the Community Development <br />Services management team intends. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impact <br />The additional cost to the Community Development Services Department as a result of this <br />proposal will be approximately $7112 annually.
