<br />06/27/2005 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City has determined that the benefits offered by the BFI in <br />exchange for granting its request are in the best interest of the City and its residents <br />and businesses. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY THAT: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the Amended and Restated Franchise Agreement between the <br />City of Redwood City and BFI Waste Systems of North America, Inc. for Solid Waste, <br />Recyclable Materials, Commercial Organic Materials, and Plant Materials Collection <br />Services, a copy of which is on file in the office of the City Clerk, is hereby approved, <br />and the City Manager and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute, <br />and to attest thereto, respectively, said agreement for and on behalf of the City of <br />Redwood City. . <br /> <br />Section 2.
