<br />~N- , <br /> <br />REPORT <br /> <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the Ci Mana <br /> <br />March 27 2000 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Three Year Statutory Limit on Refunds for Solid Waste Collection Accounts <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Staff is recommending that a three-year limit be placed on the retroactive period for <br />issuing refunds to customers regarding solid waste collection accounts. <br /> <br />Background <br />This three-year limit is consistent with the limits Council has approved for water and <br />sewer refunds. There is a considerable administrative burden incurred in reasearching <br />billing questions beyond a three-year period because our current system's storage <br />capacity is limited to three years. <br /> <br />Council had approved this in concept at your meeting of February 28, 2000.
