Yazmin Rodriguez was selected by both the Oral Board and a panel of Library Staff <br />and managers as the top candidate. <br /> <br />Yazmin has worked for the Library Department since March 1996. She was reclassified as a <br />casual Library Assistant I (without benefits) in October of 1998. Because of Yazmin's <br />experience on our staff, she is fully trained for a regular appointment and already a most <br />valuable employee. The Library Department does not want to adversely affect Yazmin's base <br />salary by decreasing her current pay level to hire her as a regular employee. <br /> <br />Alternative <br />If Yazmin starts at Step 1, she will be earning $.72 per hour less than her current position. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impact <br />There is no fiscal impact. This position falls within the Library Department's allocations for fiscal <br />year 99/00. <br /> <br />Conclusion <br />Yazmin has been an exemplary employee for the past four years. She is experienced on our <br />staff and fully trained for a regular position.
