Adopt the Ordinance Adding Article XV to Chapter 18 of the Code of the City of <br /> Redwood City Relating to Transportation Impact Fees. <br /> 2. Adopt the resolutian approving Table 1— Tcaffic Impa�t Mitigation Fee Pr.ojects, and <br /> Table 2— Transportation Impact Fee Schedule, referenced in the Transportation Impact <br /> Fee Ordinance. <br /> Background <br /> On April 3, 2000, the City Council approved introduction and first reading of the <br /> Transportation Impact Fee Ordinance. Second reading of the Ordinance is scheduled for <br /> approval at the April 24, 2000 Council meeting. The Ordinance refers to approval of a <br /> Traffic Impact Fee Project List and an Impact Fee Schedule, which are included in the <br /> following Tables (see attached). <br /> •'Table 1-Traffic Impact Mitigation Fee Projects" lists the transportation <br /> improvements and traffic reduction measures, and their estimated costs, for which <br /> the fees collected pursuant to the Ordinance, will be used to fund the proportionate <br /> share necessary to mitigate the traffic impacts of new development. <br /> •"Table 2-Transportation Impact Fee Schedule" provides the fee rates per unit of <br /> development (e.g., square feet, dwelling units, etc.) for specific land use categories, <br /> � including the basic fee per Dwelling Unit Equivalent (DUE), which corres�aonds to <br /> one PM peak hour trip. <br /> Future adjustments to the fees and projects can be done on an annual basis by the City <br /> Council. <br /> Fiscal Impact <br /> Estimated fee revenue of $11.68 million for funding of the transportation improvement <br /> projects specfied in Table 1 would be generated over the next 20 years. However, the City <br /> would be required to identify funding sources for the estimated remaining $5.86 million <br /> unfunded portion of the fee project costs, equivalent to approximately $293,000 annualty <br /> over the 20-year life of the fee progr . <br /> • �°�1� <br /> Richard K.
