Because funds were insufficient to complete the necessary repairs, and
replacement of the HVAC systems originally estimated for all the buildings, it was
decided to delete the proposed work for the HVAC replacement at the Senior Resource
Center Building, the HVAC replacement at the Fair Oaks Community Center, and the
Veterans Memorial Senior Center Building Eaves and Gutter Repair Project, until funds
become available.
Task Order No. 1 was approved by City Council on September 21, 1998, for $10,308.00
to modify the design, and to complete the HVAC replacement and repairs at the
Veterans Memorial Senior Center only. The design for replacing the HVAC system at
the Fair Oaks Community Center and the Senior Resource Building, and eaves and
gutter repair at the Veterans Memorial Senior Center was deleted. (The replacement of
the HVAC system at the Veterans Memorial Senior Center is completed and we are
awaiting PG&E's final connection.)
Now that the funds have been programmed in the FY1999/2000 CIP (and future years)
for Roof and HVAC Program, staff recommends issuance of Task Order No. 2 for .
completing the design for replacing the inefficient and outdated existing HVAC system
i _ . . .._._.._ _... _ _ ,
