<br />2. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br /> <br />Pete Hughes asked for re-examination of the transportation impact fees on new development <br />(Consent Item L). He stated if taxes are imposed they should be imposed on all residents. <br /> <br />Ralph Nobles announced two news items. The first announcement was that on Thursday, April <br />27 at 7:00 p.m. a meeting is being held at 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, for public input regarding <br />Bair Island access. The second item he mentioned is that BCDC has published a notice that <br />SAMTRANS has applied for a permit for auxilliary lanes on 101 nom Whipple A venue on up <br />north of 92 that could pose the possibility of building a Redwood City connector road. The area <br />he focused on is the portion between Whipple A venue and Holly Street, an auxilliary lane that <br />includes a 12-foot wide bicycle path between Whipple Avenue and Holly Street. He stated the <br />City could possibly disband its own committee. <br /> <br />Mayor Ruskin requested of City Manager Everett that Community Development Services <br />Manager Patterson respond to the above subject through the Mayor. <br /> <br />Clem Molony, representing the Seaport Industrial Association, brought a copy of their second <br />newsletter with a cover letter summarizing the legal opinion urging plan for land uses which <br />accept industry in place, and to respect State zoning law which protects neighbors nom <br />incompatible uses. <br /> <br />Jeff Opfer spoke on behalf of his parents on an item under consideration for acquisition under <br />redevelopment. He distributed an additional packet of infonnation to assist in the decision <br />making process. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />3. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />Items on the Consent Calendar are considered to be routine by the City Council anctare enacted <br />by one motion and one vote. There is no separate discussion of these items unless a Council <br />Member or Citizen so requests, in which event the item is removed nom the consent calendar <br />and considered in its nonnal sequence on the agenda. Council Member Jordan requested Items <br />B, G and L be removed nom the Consent Calendar. <br /> <br />MIS Hartnett/Howard to waive reading of the Consent Calendar except the ordinances by title, <br />adopt the resolutions and the ordinances, and approve other items. <br /> <br />A.
