S~-l REPORT To the Honorable Mayor and City Council From the City Manager June 5, 2000 Subject Support Agreement with South Bayside System Authority Recommendation Authorize the City Manager to revise the agreement with South Bayside System Authority (SBSA) to provide them desktop computer and network support for $47,250 annually plus inflation adjustments. Background In January 1998, the City of Redwood City entered into a three-year agreement with SBSA to provide computer network administration and maintenance services. While the agreement runs until January 1, 2001, it provides for the review, by both parties, prior to June 30 of each year, of the compensation payable under the agreement. Agreed upon adjustments to compensation shall be effective July 1 for the ensuing fiscal year. Adjustments shall be evidenced by motion duly made and carried by the SBSA Commission and the Redwood City Council. Redwood City has requested a 7.1 % increase in the labor rate, from $70/hour to $75/hour. While the hourly rate is increasing, the number of hours needed to provide services to SBSA has decreased from 800 to 630 annually. The net result is annual revenue of $47,250 versus the current $54,000. The services provided by Redwood City have satisfied the needs of SBSA and they have accepted the new $75/hour rate. Fiscal Impact The current agreement has two remaining years. Redwood City will receive $47,250 in revenue from the South Bayside System Authority in fiscal year 2000/01 with an opportunity for adjustment due to changes in rates and hours in 2001/02.
