<br />...\ <br /> <br />REPORT <br /> <br />To the Redevelopment Agency <br /> <br />June 12, 2000 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Initiation of Eminent Domain Proceedings <br />Property Owners: Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hudson <br />Assessors Parcel No's. 053-175-020 and 053-175-030 <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />It is recommended that the Redevelopment Agency initiate eminent domain proceedings <br />to acquire a parcel of property owned by Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hudson by adopting the <br />attached Eminent Domain Resolution for redevelopment in the Franklin Street Project Area <br />pursuant to the Redwood City Redevelopment Project No.2. <br /> <br />The property is identified on the exhibits attached to the Resolution of Necessity. The <br />Resolution of Necessity requires a two-thirds vote of the Agency Board for passage. <br /> <br />Background <br />The property is located at 117-119 Maple Street and 135 Maple Street, Redwood City <br /> <br />It is necessary that this parcel be acquired by the Agency in furtherance of the <br />redevelopment of the area. The proposed project by developer Irvine Apartment <br />Communities, L. P. ("lAC") is for the purposes of Redevelopment, to include development <br />of residential units together with retail space and related improvements Le. parking, <br />landscaping and roadway and utility infrastructure located on or necessary to serve the lAC <br />site. <br /> <br />The public use and necessity for the project has been established by the approved <br />Redevelopment Plan, adopted by Ordinance No. 1862 (amended by Ordinance(s) <br />1911,2007 and 2085) and the Redevelopment Project designated Franklin Street Project <br />Site. <br /> <br />Redevelopment is an established public use under the law. The proposed project will <br />serve to additionally redevelop and improve the downtown area in furtherance of the <br />Redevelopment Plan and the Project's goals of the clearance and elimination of blight. <br />(Copies of the Redevelopment Plan and all amendment thereto, including all reports, <br />studies and environmental documents are available for review at the City Clerk's office and <br />are incorporated into the administrative record herein). <br /> <br />The Agency has previously prepared, circulated and certified a Final Environmental Impact <br />1 <br /> <br />"~"'-"-"'T"" .. <br />
