<br /> <br />June 12, 2000 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Final Acceptance - Reimbursement Agreement for Relocating Sprint Communications <br />Company, Inc. for the Jefferson Avenue Underpass Project <br />Engineering File No. 1602-05 <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Accept the Relocation of Sprint Telecommunications Cable System as part of the <br />Jefferson Avenue Project. <br /> <br />Background <br />On February 26, 1996, by Resolution No. 12703, the City Council approved a <br />Reimbursement Agreement relocating Sprint Communications Company, LP. due to <br />the construction of the Jefferson Avenue Underpass Project. <br /> <br />The work has been satisfactory completed in two phases and accepted by the <br />Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board and staff. Sprint submitted a detailed invoice to <br />the City for $43,090.67, which has been reviewed and approved. The original estimate <br />was $114,289.75. The savings was due to a better coordination with the fiber optic <br />companies. <br /> <br />This agreement was one of three separate Reimbursement Agreements executed with <br />fiber optic companies.
