<br /> <br />REPORT <br /> <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br /> <br />June 12, 1999 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Award of Contract - 1999-2000 Civic Facilities Painting Project <br />Engineering File No. 803-02 <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Adopt a resolution awarding the contract for the 199ß-2000 Civic Facilities Painting <br />Project to the lowest responsible bidder, Arco Painting, of San Francisco, California, for <br />their low bid of $145,370. <br /> <br />Background <br />Many of the existing City facilities are in need of painting. These facilities include the <br />following: <br />. The exterior of the Fair Oaks Community Center Facilities, <br />. Fire Stations Nos. 9, 10 and 12, <br />. Veterans Memorial Senior Center Building <br />. Veterans Senior Resource Building <br />. Community Activities Building (CAB) <br />. The interiors of the Main Library, Fire Stations No.1 0 and No. 12 and portions of <br />No.9. <br /> <br />With the emphasis of preventive maintenance, and the goal of keeping the appearance <br />of the City's Civic Facilities looking their best, a Civic Facilities Painting Program was <br />established to fund repainting of the buildings. <br /> <br />Six bids were received, but one was rejected due to failing to acknowledge Addendum <br />No.1. The bids were opened at 3:00 PM in the office of the City Clerk on May 24, <br />2000. (SAS, Inc.) - Burlingame, CA $169,680 <br />5. Robert V.
