r¡ REPORT To the Honorable Mayor and City Council From the City Manager July 24, 2000 Subject Award of Contract - Removal of Stockpile Material at the End of Maple Street Engineering File No. 801-05 Recommendation Adopt a resolution awarding the contract for the Removal of Stockpile Material at the End of Maple Street to the lowest responsible bidder, Wright Environmental Services, Inc., of Tracy, California, for an amount of $ 408,750. Background As part of the Jefferson Avenue Underpass Project, and to save cost of disposal. excavated "clean" soil was stockpiled at the end of Maple Street to be possibly reused as fill material. The excavated "clean" soil was approved for reuse by the San Mateo County Environmental Health Office, and permitted for reuse in San Mateo County. After two years of trying to find a place for the material, there was only casual interest by developers and contractors in accepting the material, and the decision was made to advertise for the removal of the material. On July 5, 2000, nine (9) bids were received and opened at 3:00 PM in the office of the City Clerk. The following is a list of the bid submittals: i Amount I Rank Contractor (Base Bid) 1.
