<br /> <br />REPORT <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Councili <br />From the City Managerl <br /> <br />July 24, 2000 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Final Acceptance- Peninsula No.1 Water Tank Rehabilitation Project <br />Engineering File No. 806-08 <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Accept the Peninsula No.1 Water Tank Rehabilitation Project, and authorize the release of <br />labor/material bond and retention. <br /> <br />Background <br />Peninsula No.1 Water Tank is one of the two 3.2 million gallon water tanks located in <br />Redwood Shores. The goal of this renovation project is to provide the best water quality <br />available to our customers. The objectives were to remove and recoat the existing interior <br />and exterior steel tank coating to prevent tank corrosion, and to install piping manifolds to <br />enhance the water circulation in the tank. <br /> <br />On March 13. 2000, the City Council awarded the construction contract for the Peninsula No. <br />1 Water Tank Rehabilitation Project to Robison Prezioso, Inc. of Santa Fe Springs. California, <br />for the amount of $669,050. <br /> <br />The project was designed by Associate Engineer. Phong Du. The recoating process was <br />inspected by Bay Area Coating Consultant Services, and was coordinated with staff in the <br />Water Section of the Public Works Services Department. <br /> <br />The project has been successfully completed in accordance with the plans and specifications <br />for a total cost of $661.050. One change order was issued for an ($8,000) credit, which <br />represents 1.2% of the original bid price, <br /> <br />Fiscal Impacts <br />Funds in the amount of $750,000, were appropriated in the 1999-2000 Capital Improvements <br />Program Budget, Water Improvement Fund.
