REPORT <br /> To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> From the City Manager <br /> August 14, 2000 <br /> Subject <br /> Award of contract for the 1999-2000 Street Overlay Project <br /> Engineering File No. 806-02 <br /> Recommendation <br /> Adopt a resolution awarding the Contract for the 1999-2000 Street Overlay Project to <br /> the lowest responsible bidder, Interstate Grading & Paving, Inc. of So. San Francisco, <br /> California for their low bid of $1,243,312. <br /> Background <br /> On June 26, 2000, the City Council approved the Contract Documents for 1999-2000 <br /> Street Overlay Project, and authorized advertisement for bid. <br /> The 1999-2000 Street Overlay Project is a continuation of the Roadway Maintenance <br /> Program (RMS), which targeted the major arterial and collector streets. <br /> At the bid opening held on July 26, 2000, the City Clerk received five (5) bids, which are <br /> summarized below: <br /> � Rank � Contractor Amount <br /> ' 1. � Interstate Grading & Paving, Inc. — So.
