. <br /> �c1 <br /> � <br /> REPUR _ __ __ <br /> To the Honorahie Mayor and City Council <br /> From'the Cit Mana e <br /> �Uiy s, Z000 <br /> Subject: Purchase of Kitchen Equipment for the Veterans Memorial Senior Center <br /> Recommendation <br /> It is recommended that Council adopt the resolution authorizing the purchase of kitchen <br /> equipment as listed on attached bid specification from County Supply in the amount of <br /> $14,000.00 plus freight for the Veterans Memorial Senior Center. <br /> Background <br /> The existing kitchen equipment at the Veterans Memorial Senior Center is just under twenty <br /> years old. It is used five days per week for the hot lunch program, for Senior Center special <br /> events and by outside caterers or individuals who have rented the space for private events. We <br /> have seen an increase in the breakdowns and services calls needed to keep the equipment <br /> running and have determined it would be more cost effective to replace rather than continue to <br /> expend funds to make repairs. <br /> Staff solicited and received three written bids from vendors for the following equipment: <br /> 1 ea. Restaurant quality 6 burner gas range <br /> 1 ea. Restaurant quality 6 burner range with 24" griddle <br /> 1 ea. Restaurant quality 36" double stacked oven <br /> 1 ea. Restaurant quality refrigerator, 2 door <br /> 1 ea. Restaurant quality freezer, 2 door <br /> 1 ea. Restaurant quality twin 3 gallon coffee um <br /> Bids were received as follows: <br /> 1. County Supply $14,000.00 plus freight <br /> 2. Sysco Food Service $15,128.55 plus freight <br /> 3. United Restaurant Equipment $14,040.22 plus freight <br /> We recommend accepting the lowest responsible bid, in the total amount of $14,000.00 plus <br /> freight, from County Supply for the purchase of the kitchen equipment. <br /> Fiscal Impact <br /> Funds in the amount of $14,000.00 have been encumbered from the 1999-2000 budget for this <br /> purpose. <br /> _. <br /> , l /�, <br /> � y� . -� <br /> . <br /> Lind .
