The secretary was <br />asked to-request such a report from the, city auditor. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br /> <br />Mr. 'Dean and Mr. Wiley of the VetéEans of Foreign Wars app- <br />eared to suggest improvements to the rifle range, in order that <br />the facility would be suitable for use by the VFW Sons' Ri~le <br />Corps. <br /> <br />Portable benches, grading of firing points and movable tar- <br />get frames were nece~sary, t~ey said. After some discussion it <br />was agreed to have the matter settleq between Mr. Wiley, Mr. Dimm <br />itt and Mr. Morton. <br /> <br />MSC that the matter be so refer~ed, ~ith the commission's <br />recommendation that the improvements be financed. <br /> <br />Mr. Bogie said that a problem of handling money in the craft <br />room at the ~ecreation .build~ng had been brought to his attention <br />and he suggested a close check on all cash paid in by childr~n fo <br />materials, and on the amount of materials distributed, to fore- <br />stall any possible accusati~ns of m~sappropriation of funds. Mr. <br />Morton pointed out that Work Projects Administration employees <br />are specifically prohibited from handling mondy. It was agreed <br />to have Mr. Morton work out a system of checking dispensation of <br />materials and cash receipts, and also to work out a similar meth- <br />ø~ of collecting lighting fees at the softball park. <br /> <br />MSC that the re_signation- of Walt_er C. Peterson as secretary <br />and a member of the commission be accepted. - <br /> <br />Following the action, Mr. Eva nominated Mîss Helen A. Smith <br /> <br />. - <br /> <br />for the office of secretary.
