Many residents on Edgewood hold opinions very favorable to the humps. <br /> <br />)0. Many residents on Blandford feel the stop signs have had minimal beneficial effects on <br />traffic speeds, while traffic volume has increased noticeably, on Blandford. Many still <br />oppose the humps on Edgewood, even though the Council's established criterion of <br />significant traffic impact has not been exceeded. While some residents desire additional <br />traffic calming on Blandford, they are reluctant to suggest humps or stop signs at any <br />specific locations out of concern for effects on the closest neighbors. <br /> <br />)0. Many residents on the segment of Edgewood east to EI Camino Real desire humps on <br />their blocks. <br /> <br />)0. There are continuing concerns about traffic speed and pedestrian safety at Wellesley <br />Crescent. <br /> <br />)0. There is broad desire to address the foregoing local street traffic issues in the context of <br />an Edgewood Park neighborhood-wide traffic calming plan. <br /> <br />)0. There is an interest in seeing signage located at the Alameda and Edgewood indicating <br />directions to Downtown, Route 280, San Carlos, and EI Camino Real. <br /> <br />Since the July 20,2000 Public Meeting, staff has received correspondence from residents of 32 <br />households in the subject area. Three households expressed support for the Edgewood <br />humps, while 29 households expressed negative opinions about the results. Of the 29 negative <br />opinions, 24 were received from households on Blandford. <br /> <br />Conclusion <br />In summary, the data shows the humps have performed as intended in reducing traffic speed <br />and have not caused significant undesired effects. <br /> <br />-6- <br /> <br />"....'.".j"'""'"-'..'.-".T"'.' <br />
