<br />7.1A~ <br /> <br />AMEND MENT TO <br /> <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, AND THE REDWOOD CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT REGARDING <br />CONSTRUCTION, ESTABLISHMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF PLAYING FIELDS <br />AT TAFT AND GARFIELD SCHOOLS <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into this - day of . 2000, <br />by and among the County of San Mateo ( "County"), a political subdivision of the State ,of <br />California, the City of Redwood City ("City"), a duly incorporated City within the County of San <br />Mateo, and the Redwood City School District ("District"), a political subdivision of the State of <br />California: <br /> <br />WITNESSETH <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, Public Law 93-383, <br />enacted August 22, 1974, and the Housing and Community Development Act of 1977, Public <br />Law 95-128, enacted October 12, 1977, both provide for the distribution of federal funds <br />through the process of Community Development Block Grants to eligible public entities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors, on January 4, 2000, by Resolution No. 63302, approved <br />a three-party agreement with the City of Redwood City and the Redwood City School District to <br />provide CDBG funds of$1.2 million and Community Service Area No.8 (CSA 8) funds of <br />$84,379 to finance a portion of the costs associated with reconstructing play fields at the Taft and <br />Garfield Schools; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the aforementioned agreement omitted critical CDBG program requirements <br />concerning program compliance matters and funds administration; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the County Office of Housing of the Human Services Agency is the CDBG program <br />administrator for the County, and County Public Works is the County lead agent responsible for <br />interfacing with the City of Redwood City, the overall project manager for renovating the two <br />play fields; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Parties to the Agreement desire to enter into an amendment to the Agreement <br />dated January 4, 2000, to include critical CDBG program requirements to ensure proper <br />administration of the CDBG program; and <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of these mutual covenants, the parties agree as follows: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />New Sections fthrough h shall be added to Paragraph 5, and shall read: <br /> <br />f. County's portion to finance the design, repair, restoration and establishment of the <br />two fields comprise $1,200,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) <br />funds and $84,379 in County Service Area No.8 (CSA8) funds.
