October 16, 2000 Subject Schedule of Actions for Retail/Cinema Project Recommendation The Retail/Cinema Sub-Committee recommends that the City Council approve by motion the following schedule af actions with regard to the subject project. Schedule of Actions The proposed schedule of events is as follows: October 1 fi, 2000 RDA' extends the DDA to Janua 31, 2001 Octobe� 17, 2000 Planning Commission considers certification of the Final EIR October 23, 2000 RDA considers the financial parameters in closed session. November 8 or 9 , 2000 � Community Meeting to discuss the pro'ect. � November 15 or 16, 2000 2" Community Meetin � November 29 or 30, 2000 3` Communi Meetin Deaember 7, 2000 Possible 4 Communit Meeting if needed December 11, 18, 2000 RDA and City consider approval of the or January S. 2001 DDA3. The Community meetings are proposed for Wednesday or Thursday evenings, to avoid as many other civic meetings as possible. They would b� joint rneetings with the Planning Commission and Architectural Review Committee (ARC) and would be noticed t� as broad an audience as possible, certainly everyone who has expressed interest in this particular project. The Community would be invited to comment, and the meetings would also be used t� provide as much data as possible about the prvposal before the Redevelopment Agancy and City. Following are proposed agendas: At the fYovember 9, 2000 meeting we propose that the project architects discuss the design of cinemas in general and this proposal in particutar. The developer will alsn provide information about their theater tenant, and the Agency consultant can discuss the general condition of the cinema industry.
