Development of building sites for office use under current zoning <br /> district classifications would conflict with necessary studies for, and <br /> implementation of, revised land use regulations which would be in furtherance of <br /> the public health, safety, and welfare; <br /> I. Pursuant to Ordinance No. 2198, entitled, "Interim Urgency Ordinance <br /> Prohibiting Office Development on Parcets of Property One Acre or Larger Within <br /> the CG (General Commercial), CG-R (General Commercial-Residential <br /> Combining), CB (Central Business), and CN (Neighborhood Commercial) Zoning <br /> Districts in the City Of Redwood City," operative July 24, 2000, this Council <br /> enacted restrictions on office developments on parcels of property one acre or <br /> larger in the CG, CG-R, CB, and CN Zoning Districts throughout the City. <br /> J. During the intervening period from the introduction of said ordinance, <br /> on July 24, 2000, City staff and professional consultants have reviewed the <br /> effects upon office developments of said ordinance and have further studied the <br /> adverse impacts of such developments described hereinabove; <br /> K. As a result of said preliminary studies, staff and consultants have <br /> recommended new and different regulations more specifically addressing the <br /> adverse impacts than provided under the aforesaid Ordinance No. 2198, <br /> L.
