GE <br /> October 23, 2000 <br /> Subject <br /> Agreement with Redwood City – San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce. <br /> Recommendation <br /> Execute the Agreement with Redwood City – San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce services for fiscal <br /> year 2000/2001. <br /> Background <br /> For many years, the City of Redwood City (City) and the Redwood City – San Mateo County Chamber of <br /> Commerce (Chamber) have had a strong working relationship. The City has partnered with the Chamber for <br /> over fifteen years for the maintenance and improvement of the economy of the City of Redwood City by general <br /> promotion and development of local industry and commerce in the City. During the past several years, the <br /> Chamber has consistently met or exceeded its contractual objectives. The Chamber played a critical role in the <br /> creation of the City's Economic Development Strategy, has partnered with the City and the Redwood City <br /> School District to achieve school excellence and create school libraries, and has now completed its twelfth year <br /> of the Leadership Redwood City-Belmont-San Carlos program.
