Background The 1999/2000 Civic Facilities Painting Project was implemented to paint various civic buildings that needed a fresh look, after years of wear and tear. This included painting the public areas of the Main Library; the interior and exterior of Fire Stations #9, #10, & #12; the interior and exterior of the Community Activities Building, and the exterior of the Fair Oaks Community Center and Senior Center portion of the Community Center. In addition, the exterior of the Veterans Memorial Senior Resource Center was also painted. The newly painted appearance has truly been appreciated by the patrons, and aesthetically brightened up these facilities. Fiscal Impacts ARCO Painting of San Francisco, California completed the work for the total amount of $159,520.00. The original bid amount was $145,370.00, and there was only one (1) change order approved in the amount of $14,150.00. The change included applying a full coat of primer to the exterior of the following buildings: ,.. ,. ,. Fire Station #10 Fire Station #12 Fair Oaks Community Center (Main Building Infant Care Center, and the Senior Center portion of the Community Center) Community Activities Building ,. This change represented 9.7% of the original bid price amount. Funds in the amount of $200,000 were allocated in the 1999/2000 Capital Improvement Program Budget for this project.
