FromtheC.Mana er <br /> <br />November 13, 2000 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Advertisement for Bids - Redwood City Main Library Project Read Office Expansion <br />Project - Engineering File No. 803-02 <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Adopt a resolution approving the Contract Documents entitled, "Contract Documents for <br />the Redwood City Main Library - Project Read Office Expansion Project," and authorize <br />advertisement for bids. <br /> <br />Background <br />Project Read and its eleven full-time staff members are presently crammed into a, 450 <br />square-foot room. The purpose/intent of this project is to convert the adjoining alcove <br />into usable office space, so that staff may do their tutor-learner consultations without <br />the noise being carried downstairs through the open atrium conditions. The open areas <br />will be enclosed with glass for light transmission, but will also stop the sound <br />transmission. <br /> <br />The Engineer's Estimate for the project is $30,000. <br /> <br />The contract documents have been completed by Engineering and Construction, and <br />are now ready for advertisement. A complete copy of the Specifications is available for <br />review in Engineering and Construction. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impacts <br />Funds in the amount of $30,000 for this project are available in the 1999-2000 Capital <br />Improvement Program budget in the Main Library Improvements/Project Read <br />Expansion Project. <br /> <br /> <br />"'\ <br /> <br />/' <br /> <br />(/ <br />".// /' -::..
