<br />7. 1-84 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redwood City adopted a Strateav to Address <br /> <br />Flooding and directed the Mayor to initiate dialog with neighboring jurisdictions, state and <br />federal agencies, and the City congressional and legislative delegations to further efforts to <br /> <br />reduce flooding. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />The City Council of Redwood City supports the notion of reclaiming Cargill Salt lands <br /> <br />adjacent to Redwood City to improve the ecological health of the San Francisco Bay and asks <br /> <br />both the State and Federal Governments to consider and incorporate into their negotiations <br /> <br />with Cargill the public interest by allowing the use of a portion of the Cargill lands to provide for <br /> <br />protection against flooding for the adjacent residences and businesses. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />Reso-968 <br /> <br />2 <br />
