the City Council, in April, indicated support for the San Mateo County facilities master
plan which includes demolition of the courthouse annex and recreation of a park plaza on
the Broadway frontage. A committee of local landowners, businesspeople and
representatives of both the City and County government have been meeting to deternune
how to proceed with regard to the annex demolition and pazk plaza creation. She stated, in
September, the following recommendations have been made: that an assessment of the
demolition costs and cost to prepare architectural plans, a funding strategy and restoration
plans, and a design for the resulting pazk plaza that will be created on the Broadway
frontage be prepazed. The resolution authorizing the $15,000.00 is to be supplemented by
private individual contributions matching this seed money.
M/S Ira/Howazd RESOLUTION RD 00-59 OF TI REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF TI-
CITY OF REDWOOD CITY APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF
AGREEMENT FOR TI DISBURSEMENT OF FUNDS TO 'THE SAN MATEO COUNTY
HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION FOR ASSISTANCE IN RESTORATION OF THE HISTORIC
COUNTY COURTHOUSE;
And to add a recommendation (no. 4) to allow input from the Downtown Task Force of its
, view of the design of the park area.
The motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote by those present.
MI1vUTE ORDER RD
7.
