<br />0 RIG I N A L <br /> <br />DES:dft ~1/91 <br />9/16/91 <br /> <br />(020/30) <br /> <br />---------- <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />11607 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING PROPOSAL FOR INSTALLATION OF <br />DIESEL EXHAUST REMOVAL SYSTEMS AND AUTHORIZING <br />EXECUTION OF PURCHASE DOCUMENTS IN CONNECTION <br />THEREWITH - FIRE DEPARTMENT FACILITIES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />studies <br /> <br />conducted <br /> <br />regarding <br /> <br />diesel <br /> <br />exhaust <br /> <br />emissions in the City's Fire Station Facilities indicate the need <br /> <br />to provide appropriate exhaust equipment¡ and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />investigation <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />studies <br /> <br />further <br /> <br />indicate <br /> <br />that <br /> <br />equipment <br /> <br />adequate <br /> <br />for <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />task <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />removing <br /> <br />diesel <br /> <br />exhaust <br /> <br />emissions -is unique and available from a single source only; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 2.76 of the <br /> <br />Code of the City of Redwood City, this Council has suspended, by <br /> <br />motion, the provisions of Article VII ("Purchasing") of Chapter 2 <br /> <br />of said Code relating to advertising for, or soliciting, bids for <br /> <br />said equipment; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />this <br /> <br />Council <br /> <br />has <br /> <br />reviewed <br /> <br />a <br /> <br />proposal <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />Air <br /> <br />Exchange, Inc., to furnish and install said equipment which meets <br /> <br />the requirements and specifications therefor; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD AS <br /> <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />The <br /> <br />proposal <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />Air <br /> <br />Exchange, <br /> <br />Inc. , <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />San <br /> <br />Bruno, <br /> <br />California, for furnishing and installing air cleaning systems in <br /> <br />Fire Stations No.9, 10, 11 and 12 in the City of Redwood City, <br /> <br />which proposal is dated June 21, <br /> <br />1991, <br /> <br />in the total amount of <br /> <br />Seventy <br /> <br />One <br /> <br />Thousand <br /> <br />Three <br /> <br />Hundred <br /> <br />Thirty <br /> <br />Eight <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />74/100 <br /> <br />Dollars <br /> <br />($71,338. 74), <br /> <br />which <br /> <br />proposal <br /> <br />excludes <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />cost <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />electrical installations, is hereby accepted and the City Manager <br /> <br />T'~ <br />
