<br /> DES:cb 7/10/91 (002/30) <br />0 RIG I N A L 8/26/91 <br /> <br />R E S 0 L U T I 0 N N O. 11587 <br />- - - - ------ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AND EXECUTION OF <br />AMENDMENT NO.1 TO JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING <br />THE CITY/COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo, the City of Redwood City <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />seventeen <br /> <br />(17 ) <br /> <br />other <br /> <br />cities <br /> <br />within <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />County <br /> <br />previously <br /> <br />entered <br /> <br />into <br /> <br />a <br /> <br />Joint <br /> <br />Powers <br /> <br />Agreement <br /> <br />establishing <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />City/County <br /> <br />Association <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />Governments <br /> <br />(the <br /> <br />"Joint <br /> <br />Powers <br /> <br />Agreement"); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Joint <br /> <br />Powers Agreement <br /> <br />includes, <br /> <br />in Exhibit <br /> <br />"A" thereof, <br /> <br />a preliminary population count for the County and <br /> <br />each city (including the City of San Bruno, which city is not a <br /> <br />party to the Joint Powers Agreement), upon which population count <br /> <br />special voting procedures and the determination of each member's <br /> <br />contribution to the Authority are based; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the results of the decennial federal census will be <br /> <br />available in the near future and the parties desire to amend the <br /> <br />Joint <br /> <br />Powers <br /> <br />Agreement <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />revise <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />population <br /> <br />figures <br /> <br />in <br /> <br />Exhibit "A" <br /> <br />thereof and to provide a method for adjusting the <br /> <br />figures <br /> <br />in the <br /> <br />future without further amendments to the Joint <br /> <br />Powers Agreement; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />there has been presented to and reviewed by this <br /> <br />Council, <br /> <br />Amendment No. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />to the Joint <br /> <br />Powers Agreement which <br /> <br />would provide that the aforesaid population figures shall be set <br /> <br />forth in Exhibit "A" to said Amendment No.1 or as specified in a <br /> <br />resolution adopted by the Board of Directors pursuant to Section <br /> <br />19 of the Joint Powers Agreement; <br /> <br />"--~"""-""'---¡-------r----'-"--'-' <br />
