<br />;)ES;djk '16/24/91 (081/28) <br />DES:djk 7/03/91R <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br />July 8, 1991 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />11559 <br /> <br />---------- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID FOR THE CHESTNUT STREET <br />RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT; AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />AGREEMENT FOR SAID WORK; AND DIRECTING RETURN OF <br />SECURITY DEPOSITS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. <br /> <br />11513, adopted by this <br /> <br />Council on April 22, 1991, the City Clerk advertised for bids for <br /> <br />the Chestnut Street Reconstruction Project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />pursuant <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />said <br /> <br />call <br /> <br />for <br /> <br />bids, <br /> <br />two <br /> <br />bids <br /> <br />were <br /> <br />received for the performance of said work and filed with the City <br /> <br />Clerk; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />O.C. <br /> <br />Jones <br /> <br />& <br /> <br />Sons, <br /> <br />Berkeley, <br /> <br />California, <br /> <br />is <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />lowest responsible bidder, and it is the intention and desire of <br /> <br />this Council to award said bid to O.C. Jones & Sons; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />The <br /> <br />bid <br /> <br />of O.C. <br /> <br />Jones <br /> <br />& <br /> <br />Sons, <br /> <br />in <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />sum <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />Four <br /> <br />Million Nine Hundred Twenty-two Thousand Two Hundred Forty-four <br /> <br />and No/100 Dollars <br /> <br />($4,922,244.00), computed in accordance with <br /> <br />said bidder's proposal dated May 28, 1991 for the Chestnut Street <br /> <br />Reconstruction Project, <br /> <br />is hereby accepted and <br /> <br />said bidder is <br /> <br />hereby declared <br /> <br />to be <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />lowest <br /> <br />responsible bidder <br /> <br />for <br /> <br />said <br /> <br />work. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to <br /> <br />execute <br /> <br />for <br /> <br />and on <br /> <br />behalf <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />Redwood <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />that <br /> <br />certain <br /> <br />agreement <br /> <br />entitled <br /> <br />"Agreement <br /> <br />Chestnut <br /> <br />Street <br /> <br />Reconstruction", by and between the City of Redwood City and O.C. <br /> <br />11559 <br /> <br />._. 1r. <br />
