<br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />Lead Construction Specialist (Continued) <br /> <br />Repair and maintain drinking fountains; install, repair. and replace <br />plumbing fixtures and order parts as needed. <br /> <br />Mix concrete, prepare forms, pour foundations, walkways, sidewalks, <br />handicapped ramps, steps, floors and driveways. <br /> <br />Paint surfaces as required. <br />Install and maintain drainage systems. <br /> <br />Maintain. operate. fabricate. renovate and and modify equipment and vehicles <br />(such as dump truck backhoe. water truck, trailers, crane trucks. etc.) as <br />necessary in the performance of duties. <br /> <br />Knowledge of: <br />Proper water balance in pools; chemicals used to maintain water quality. <br /> <br />Principles and procedures of mechanical maintenance and plumbing; function <br />and components of pool equipment such as chlorinators. <br /> <br />Procedures for the required maintenance of pools. <br /> <br />Tools, equipment and procedures used in the construction. repair and <br />maintenance of grounds, and buildings. <br /> <br />Carpentry, welding. plumbing, electrical. masonry. and concrete work and <br />mechanical equipment. <br /> <br />Safe work practices. <br /> <br />Ability to: <br /> <br />Operate a variety of equipment used in building and park construction, <br />maintenance, repair, and general grounds maintenance. <br /> <br />Maintain. operate and modify as necessary heavy equipment needed to perform <br />tasks. <br /> <br />Read and interpret blue prints. <br /> <br />Review or inspect blueprints and equipment and implement appropriate changes <br />to minimize liability and comply with appropriate regulations. <br /> <br />Trace broken underground wiring with sophisticated electronic equipment. <br /> <br />Perform a variety of mechanical and plumbing maintenance procedures. <br /> <br />Maintain water quality in pools. <br /> <br />Identify and correct safety hazards in a pool area. <br /> <br />Understand and carry out both oral and written directions in an independent <br />manner. <br />
