<br />MINUTE ORDER <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> <br />July 11, 2005 <br />MO. 05-139 <br /> <br />CITY CLERK DEPARTMENT <br />Redwood City <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />July 12, 2005 <br /> <br />Attention: <br /> <br />City Attorney <br />Redevelopment Division <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Middlefield Road name change to Theatre Way <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM: 7C (610) <br /> <br />Meeting of the Council of the City of Redwood City on July 11, 2005. <br /> <br />Present: Council Member Aguirre, Bain, Foust, Hartnett, Pierce, <br />and Mayor Ira <br /> <br />Absent: Council Member Howard <br /> <br />The following motion was made, carried and entered on the Minutes <br /> <br />M/S Hartnett/Foust to direct staff to bring to Council a sign program that does <br />not include the changing of Middlefield Road to Theatre Way. The program <br />does include a sign and feature program that has an element referred to it as <br />"Theatre Way" in some portion of it. It is a sign program that includes at least <br />the following: 1.) Linkage from Veterans to the County parking garage so that <br />people know how to get into the parking garage for purposes of public parking <br />whether related to the theatre or other uses. 2.) That it is a program that directs <br />people not only to the retail/cinema complex, the new courthouse, and <br />Broadway, but that it is a sign program that provides direction to people to other <br />places throughout the downtown. 3.) As part of the preparation for the sign <br />program, that staff consult with the downtown business association and others <br />in the community prior to returning to Council with the recommendation. <br /> <br />The motion passed by a unanimous voice vote by all those present. <br />(---., <br />~$'~~ j~-~~'-~ <br /> <br />Patricia S.
