<br />S 4j) -/61 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY APPROVING <br />THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT <br />OF THE PENINSULA CONGESTION RELIEF ALLIANCE AND <br />AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF SAME <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Peninsula Congestion Relief Alliance ("Alliance") was <br />established in 2000 through a Joint Powers Agreement ("JPA") executed by fifteen <br />cities in the County of San Mateo, to assist the public and private sectors in <br />achieving traffic congestion relief; and <br />WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo and the City of Atherton desire to join <br />the Alliance and two other cities in the County are also considering membership; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in the interests of effective management of the Alliance, it is <br />desirable to increase the flexibility of the committee structure by giving the <br />Governing Board discretion to establish committees as it deems necessary and <br />desirable to assist the Alliance in carrying out its organizational purposes, and to <br />designate the purpose and composition of any standing committees in the Bylaws <br /> <br />of the Alliance; and <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the JPA to provide for the addition of <br />new members, to facilitate the more flexible approach to the Alliance's committee <br />structure, and to make certain housekeeping corrections required by these <br />changes. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of <br />Redwood City hereby approves the First Amendment to the Joint Powers <br />Agreement of the Peninsula Traffic Congestion Relief Alliance and authorizes the <br />Mayor to execute and the City Clerk to attest to this document. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />Atty/Reso/Reso.1554 <br />063005 <br /> <br />"--'--'-~-~'T-'- <br />
