<br />DES:djJ<- 03/20/91 <br /> <br />(#19) <br /> <br />0 RIG I N A L <br /> <br />4/8/91 <br /> <br />---------- <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. 11499 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF JOINT <br />POWERS AGREEMENT WITH THE SEQUOIA UNION HIGH SCHOOL <br />DISTRICT, THEREBY REQUESTING THE SEQUOIA UNION HIGH <br />SCHOOL DISTRICT TO PURCHASE CERTAIN MATERIALS, <br />EQUIPMENT, AND SUPPLIES ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 5 of Division 7 of Title 1, commencing with <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />6500, <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />California <br /> <br />Government <br /> <br />Code, <br /> <br />authorizes <br /> <br />public agencies to enter into agreements for the joint exercise <br /> <br />of powers which are common to the parties of such agreement; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 2.80 of the Redwood City Code provides that <br /> <br />the City of Redwood City may request local agencies to purchase <br /> <br />materials, equipment, or supplies on behalf of the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />there <br /> <br />has <br /> <br />been <br /> <br />present.ed <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />t.his <br /> <br />Council <br /> <br />an <br /> <br />agreement between the City of Redwood City and the Sequoia Union <br />High School District whereby the District will purchase certain <br /> <br />materials, equipment and supplies for the City of Redwood City, <br /> <br />and it is the intent of this Council to approve said agreement <br /> <br />and authorize its execution; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />That <br /> <br />certain <br /> <br />agreement <br /> <br />entitled <br /> <br />"Joint <br /> <br />Powers <br /> <br />Purchasing <br /> <br />Agreement Between the Sequoia Union High School District and the <br /> <br />City of Redwood Cityll, a copy of which agreement is on file in <br /> <br />the office of the City Clerk, to which copy reference is hereby <br /> <br />made for full particulars thereof, <br /> <br />is hereby approved; and the <br /> <br />City Manager is hereby authorized to execute said agreement for <br /> <br />and on behalf of the City of Redwood City. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br />
