I GIN A ~, <br /> <br />DES:djk ~?/06/9l (059/28) <br />DES:djk /20/91R <br /> <br />2/25/91 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />11486 <br /> <br />---------- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING POLICY RELATING TO <br />CONTINUATION OF SALARY AND BENEFITS FOR CITY EMPLOYEES <br />CALLED INTO ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE FOR THE IRAQI-KUWAIT <br />CRISIS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the United States is currently engaged in military <br /> <br />response to the occupation of Kuwait by military forces of the <br /> <br />nation of Iraq; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, certain employees of the City of Redwood City have, <br /> <br />as members of the California National Guard or a United States <br /> <br />military reserve organization, been called into active duty as a <br /> <br />result of the Iraqi-Kuwait crisis; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />this <br /> <br />Council <br /> <br />desires <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />provide <br /> <br />for <br /> <br />t.he <br /> <br />continuation of salary and benefits for said employees who are <br /> <br />serving our nation in the interests of peace in the world; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />That <br /> <br />certain <br /> <br />policy <br /> <br />designated <br /> <br />"Policy <br /> <br />Establishing <br /> <br />Continuation of Salary and Benefits for City Employees Called to <br /> <br />Active Military Duty", providing for certain such benefits for a <br /> <br />period not to exceed 6 months, a copy of which policy is attached <br /> <br />hereto, marked Exhibit "A", <br /> <br />and by this reference incorporated <br /> <br />herein, <br /> <br />is <br /> <br />hereby <br /> <br />approved, <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />Manager <br /> <br />is <br /> <br />hereby <br /> <br />authorized and directed to implement said policy in accordance <br /> <br />with the terms and conditions thereof. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />---...-.. . ï--T" . <br />
