She gave an update on Stafford Park stating that a couple of years ago when decibel monitoring equipment was brought to the park, the noise seemed to go down but last Wednesday it was horrible. She called the Police Department asking to speak with the person on duty, an hour later PRCS Superintendent Chris Beth and a police officer responded. When asked how the noise registered on the decibel monitor she was told that monitoring has not occurred for two years since it was within normal range. Ms. Travers stated that in March a letter went to the Civic Cultural Commission asking consideration to move the concerts to an area with more parking such as Mezes, Redwood Shores or Red Morton Park. She further expressed concern that the concerts have been advertised such that attendance could reflect that of a regional park rather than a neighborhood park. Jack Hickey shared an article regarding eminent domain that he received from the Reason Foundation, an organization that analyzes public policy. He stated that his packet of information for Council includes a city ordinance dealing with how to define the aspects of eminent domain, what is private property and what are private uses. The other item is a resolution that might be considered to send to the state and congress to overturn the Supreme Court's decision or at least clarify the decision so that property owners might be secure in their property. He encouraged review of the documents, stating that enacting this legislation would go far in restoring the credibility and confidence in the city.
