<br />CoA--1 <br /> <br />REPORT <br /> <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br /> <br />August 8, 2005 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Downtown Precise Plan - Second Joint Study Session <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />This meeting is not intended as a decision-making session. The City Council will be <br />meeting in joint study session with both the Planning Commission and the Architectural <br />Review Committee. <br /> <br />Background <br />The focus of this study session is on the following issues: land use and development <br />standards; economics of downtown revitalization; streets and public spaces; building <br />design; and downtown identity. As with the first study session on June 13, 2005, Michael <br />Freedman will report on what was heard at the community input meetings on these issues. <br /> <br />Alternative <br />The Council currently has a third study session scheduled for August 22, 2005 that will <br />focus on the issues of infrastructure, parking, transportation - including vehicular <br />transportation and transit facilities. It may be that Council wishes to continue one or both <br />of these August study sessions to another meeting.
